Aspire2 Clinic News Update 20th December 2024

As 2024 draws to a close we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Looking ahead to the next half term we should point out that it’s sensible to wear a beanie to training, feel able to wear some skins or an old pair of jogging trousers if it’s cold. The tip of the day if it’s cold and wet is to wear a rash vest under your top, it’s what they are designed for. We can also recommend a chilly bottle filled with hot (but drinkable) orange squash.

We have now covered the four primary tackles and you should feel comfortable that you know all four and the differences between them. We will continue to develop confidence in contact so please, ensure that you bring your gumshield. We don’t want to use learning sessions for full match intensity but we will now start to increase the speed at which the ball carrier is running, so that we can sharpen our contact skill sets.

Please remember that in the event that we are unable to physically train we have up to two prepared online sessions. We believe that if undertaken conscientiously they will be potentially more valuable than a physical session. They have been designed to complement our physical activity and will certainly reflect, and we hope reinforce learning.

Can we just say that we have been impressed with the focus of all during our sessions, from our perspective we have seen growth and we hope that you have found the sessions of benefit.

Dates for next term are 7th 15th 21st 28th January and 4th & 11th February a six week half term (£60).

With thanks Mike and Sue
